Nearby Spencer

Last summer I saw a Spencer 28 for sale on craigslist. It was in Ladysmith, BC, about a half hour south of where I live. Curious, I looked through the SYOG list and couldn't identify which one it was. I replied to the ad via email to get more information from the seller but didn't hear back.

I had completely forgotten about it when last week I got a reply. Shawn P, the owner, has decided not to sell Mishwa, S28 hull number 6. Instead he is going to restore it with the plan to eventually sail to Guyana, South America. There's a lot of work to be done but he's merrily chipping away at it. Keep at it Shawn. I think you'll get a lot of support and inspiration from the others on this site who are involved with similar projects. Shawn and I have agreed to get together sometime when he's at the boatyard. I'm looking forward to it.
