Webmaster's update

For those wondering what is going on with the website and the new individual boat pages, I wanted to bring you up-to-date.

The short story is I have run into a technical problem.

The longer version is that I need to upgrade this website from Drupal 6.xx (which is what it is running on now) to Drupal 7.xx before I can continue the process of creating the individual boat pages.

Roll call for new individual boat pages!

I have been delaying this for too long. I need to get the individual boats up and replace the out-of-date boat pages from the old website. I need the following people people to contact me ASAP for details of how to gather content and photos of their boat for submission to me.

First 5 up - Donation members:

2010 - Patrick Dickie, "Janine",  - Alan Smith "Seawyf"

Thanks for the donations! =)

I would like to publicly acknowledge and thank the following individuals for their generous donations toward the operation of this website:

David Vollrath - November, 2011
Mr. & Mrs. Bob Burton - November, 2011 (The largest single donation EVER received!!!)
Patrick Dickie - December, 2011 (This was Patrick's second annual donation!)

Spencer 35 review on BlueWaterBoats.org

One of our own members, Patrick Dickie owner of a Spencer 35 "Janine" has written a truly first class detailed review of the Spencer 35. Here is a link to Patrick's review. <Click here> The website would like some additional pictures of Spencer 35's to go with Patrick's review. If you are so inclined, you can submit additional information or even add your own tidbits and comments about the review. The website is also looking for other Spencer models.

End of 1st year and looking forward

Howdy all,

I am reflecting on the past year since this new version of the SYOG website went live. I'd like to hear your feedback on what you like and/or don't like about the new website. You've had a chance to try things out, kick the tires a little, so let's hear what you think.

SYOG website approx. value & funding

This is the current value of www.spenceryachts.net website according to websiteoutlook.com. This is based on a number of factors including daily traffic, number of backlinks, Alexa.com and Goggle rankings, blah, blah.

Lost One of our Own...

[Passed on from Ron Blackwell] Details are still a bit sketchy but we lost one of our Spencer 35's this week:  Paul Lim was rescued by a Panamanian bulk carrier after scuttling his Spencer 35, "Kekuli" (Hull number 41)

Thanks to all who participated

I would like to thank the participants of this years Spencer gathering. "What we lacked in numbers, we made up for in enthusiasm."

A special thank you to Bud & Theresa Harbidge for bringing their beautiful little Spencer 31 "Moody Blue." Thank you to Alan Smith (S/V Seawyf) for driving down. Thanks to Capatin Rod, Terrilynn, Russ & Sandy) crew of Free Spirit (a Spencer 53) for stopping by on their way up to Canadian cruising waters. And a special shout-out to McMike & Lowell for being here in spirit and participating in the rendezvous by long distance phone calls.

3 boats, 9 people ~ loads of food and sunshine
